Welcome to the official website for the Chesterfield-Union Township Fire Department! Our department protects the 19.5 square miles of Union Township and the Town of Chesterfield. We provide modern and up to date Emergency Medical Services, fire protection, and rescue services to over 10,000 citizens. We are a Combination department that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and averages 900 runs a year.  Our current ISO rating is a 3.

Our department was formed in 1926 as the Chesterfield Volunteer Firemen. Later it became known as the Chesterfield Volunteer Fire Department. In 1992 it reformed into what it remains today, the Chesterfield-Union Township Fire Department. We have gone from housing the departments’ one truck in a members’ garage in the 1920’s, to the modern state of the art firehouse with 9 trucks we’re privileged to operate today. We have a long history of members who have given a large portion of their lives to our fire department and to the community we serve. The members of the past have paved the road we now travel. We’re humbled to continue the work they began many years ago to protect our community from the hazards created by both man and nature, and illness and injury.

As with all of the fire departments across our country, our work is never done. We will always strive to provide the best protection possible by remaining progressive, motivated, and highly trained for every emergency that we will one day face.

Please take the time to browse through our web site and see what we’re about. Feel free to stop by the firehouse when you’re in town. Any one of our members would be glad to give you a tour and answer any questions you might have. Just know that where ever you may live, any time of day or night, any time of the year, for what ever reason. When you need your fire department, we’ll be there!
